This Spring enjoy the fun of how to cook and bake different recipes and eaaaat them! Immerse in to skill acquired, knowledge and confidence gain in the lifelong skill of the cooking and baking.

Cooking Round the World summer camp immerses a child in a cooking and cultural exploration. Each Cooking Round the World camp day we cook and eat 2-3 recipes, read a folktale, play an international/national game, observe a cooking demonstration, and learn to think critically about the foods we just cooked. ART, Clay and Scratch

Polygon Academy Art Clay camp offers creative clay making art for ages 5-12 during weekly camp. Students learn how artists experiment with clay materials to create unique works with art as they create their own using clay. They will be making projects using clay and will be fired in the kiln after drying. After firing the projects will be brought back for glazing by kids and will be fired again. Campers have fun with new friends as they create works of art and explore their creativity. The experienced art teacher will teach kids handling will also guide them in their creation of clay art. Clay making is a little messy so please have kid dress up with clothes that you are OK to get muddy(dirty) with the clay.

The projects will NOT be ready to take home by Friday. We will update you once the second firing is done.

Students can expect to make new work each day Monday through Friday. Class time will include time for clean-up, an integral part of the process. Class descriptions are subject to change depending on the ability levels of participating students.

Sports camp ( Basketball , Soccer, and Hockey)

Basketball Camp emphasizes skills through fun activities as well as fun games or/and scrimmages at the end of each day. The camp focuses on developing sports skills and improving self-esteem while teaching the fundamentals of basketball such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. We encourage participation, team work, and fair play in order to learn the basketball principals in offense and defense. Fee includes a Participation Ribbon at the end of the camp. Students should wear appropriate sport clothing and bring sunscreen, snacks, and a big water bottle.

Hockey camp is based around the fundamentals and focuses on the skills and game tactics. We provide campers with a compressive and structured environment program that enables them the ability to learn the finer aspects of the game. Safety procedures are followed each day.

Soccer Camp is designed for participants of all levels who want to learn and improve their fundamental skills in a fun and encouraging environment. Participants receive individual instruction and each day is filled with a variety of activities to promote correct soccer technique including: small-sided games to encourage personal involvement and enhance the understanding of team concepts, technical and ball mastery skills, shooting drills, scrimmages, and much more.

Chess camp

Chess camp provides for a strong foundation in the rules and strategies needed to play the game. The camp teaches the rules of the game, basic strategy, important opening concepts, recognition of tactical themes, calculation of material exchanges, and elementary endgame knowledge. Students can also participate in training games with other participants. In addition to learning the fundamentals of chess, this camp will promote the growth and development of skills in concentration, logic, decision making, planning, and self-discipline.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, here is what to expect during the on-site camp at Polygon Academy.

Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Prevention Protocol

- Camp will be limited to 12 or less campers and two staffers (one lead, one assistant).

- This group of 12 campers and two staffers will remain “stable” 3 weeks of camp; there will be no new campers or mixing with other groups of campers throughout the week

- All campers and staff are REQUIRED to wear gloves and masks during cooking sessions. We have stocked extra masks and gloves.

- Children will be seated 6 feet apart during eating and lesson times.

- Staff will clean the facility frequently, specially desks, chairs, doorknobs, light switches, bathroom sinks.

- Campers and staffers will be instructed to cover coughs with a sleeve or tissue. Keep tissues and “no touch” trash cans close by.

- All campers will be instructed to follow strict hand washing protocol- frequent hand washing either with soap and water or with hand sanitizer. Campers will wash hands before the start of the session, before eating, after touching eyes/nose/mouth, toileting, and physical contact with each other students will wash hands for 20 seconds with soap and water or use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

- Campers will not be allowed to share food or other belongings with one another.

- Parents will not be permitted to enter the building during the drop-off/pick-up process.

- Parents will wait outside at the front door with the sign-in/sign-off sheet during pick-up and drop-off times.

- Parents must wear a mask during sign-in/sign-off and remain 6 feet apart from each parent.

- Parent is the phone/text teacher for early pickup. Campers and staff will leave the building to meet parents early.

- No visitors will be allowed inside the building.

- If a child is exhibiting any signs of illness (coughing, sneezing, runny nose, fever, hot or piqued appearance) staffer is to call the parent to pick up the child early then quarantine the child off to an area separate from other kids until the parent arrives.

- In signing this contract, you agree to those steps. We will update our Social Distancing Safety Protocols as needed throughout the summer to comply with Santa Clara County Guidelines.

Refund and cancelation policy

- If the camp gets cancelled due to Covid-19, you shall receive a full refund of your payment.

- No cancellation charges applicable if parents wish to change to another available camp / session, once they have signed up for any camp / session.

- If any camp you have signed up for, gets cancelled due to low enrollment, you shall receive a complete refund of pay.
